The KwaZulu-Natal Midlands is home to some amazing restaurants and cafes. In this post we’ve listed 7 of our favourite spots to enjoy delicious food and drinks in and around Howick. These wonderful establishments are listed in no particular order- we sincerely love them all!

The Farmer’s Daughter at Yard 41 in Howick

The Farmer’s Daughter is a charming restaurant serving everything from artisan coffee to handmade bakes, breads, preserves and bistro-style breakfast, brunch and afternoon tea.

We love The Farmer’s Daughter’s eclectic vintage style, beautiful attention to detail and gorgeous architecture. The last time we visited, there was a chilly winter wind blowing up from the valley, so our kind waiter moved our table onto the grass into the sunshine so we could feel warmer and enjoy spectacular views over the Umgeni Valley.

The location is child friendly, with a big play area and huge swing adjacent to the restaurant so parents can relax while keeping an eye on their kids playing. The food is divine, with generous portion sizes!
